K2 Ropes supplies marine synthetic ropes, lifting slings, and related equipment intended for professional and industrial use only. These products are safety-critical and must be used with appropriate care, training, and supervision.

 

1. No Engineering or Operational Warranty

All product information, including but not limited to:

  • Minimum Breaking Load (MBL)

  • Diameter and construction

  • Elongation characteristics

  • Performance data

is provided for general guidance only.

K2 Ropes does not guarantee that any product is suitable for a specific application, environment, or load condition.

 

2. User Responsibility (Primary Risk Transfer)

The purchaser and end user are solely responsible for:

  • Selecting appropriate products for the intended application

  • Applying correct safety factors

  • Ensuring compatibility with winches, bitts, and equipment

  • Conducting risk assessments and engineering verification

  • Ensuring all operators are properly trained

 

3. Inspection, Maintenance, and Retirement

Ropes and lifting equipment are subject to:

  • Wear

  • Fatigue

  • Abrasion

  • UV degradation

  • Chemical exposure

The user must:

  • Perform regular inspections

  • Follow proper storage and handling procedures

  • Remove products from service when damaged or degraded

 

4. No Guarantee of Performance

Actual product performance depends on:

  • Load conditions

  • Environmental factors

  • Installation and handling

  • Operational practices

K2 Ropes makes no representation or warranty that products will perform to any specific standard in real-world conditions.

 

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • K2 Ropes shall not be liable for:

    • Personal injury

    • Death

    • Property damage

    • Vessel damage

    • Environmental incidents

    • Operational downtime

arising from the use, misuse, or failure of any product.

  • Total liability (if any) shall be limited to the purchase price of the product.

 

6. Indirect and Consequential Damages

K2 Ropes shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profit

  • Business interruption

  • Contractual penalties

  • Loss of use

 

7. Compliance with Standards

Where applicable, products may be manufactured to industry standards (e.g., ISO, OCIMF, Cordage Institute).

However:

  • Compliance does not eliminate operational risk

  • The user remains fully responsible for safe application

 

8. Third-Party Products

Where products are supplied from third-party manufacturers:

  • Manufacturer specifications and warranties may apply

  • K2 Ropes does not assume responsibility beyond supplier terms

 

9. No Implied Warranties

All products are supplied “as is”, and K2 Ropes disclaims:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

 

10. Acceptance of Risk

By purchasing or using products supplied by K2 Ropes, the customer:

  • Acknowledges the inherent risks associated with marine and lifting operations

  • Accepts full responsibility for product use

  • Agrees to hold K2 Ropes harmless to the fullest extent permitted by law
